Ozzie Diaz has amassed his senior executive experience across the Mobile & Wireless, Fortune 100, Service Provider, Government, Smart Grid, Big Data Analytics and Security industries. Ozzie has led the evolution and growth of Liquid Grids’ social media analytics and intelligence cloud-based solution and business while serving as CTO. He now advises many early stage startups, entrepreneurs, venture capital and analyst firms on industry trends and companies.
Ozzie has over 25-years career experience with both Fortune 100 companies and early stage venture-backed companies. Ozzie was most recently Co-Founder and CTO at Liquid Grids, a “big data” social media analytics company. Prior to joining Liquid Grids, Ozzie was CTO of People Power Co., an energy management services company. Prior to joining People Power he was President & CEO of AirPatrol, a wireless security company. Prior to AirPatrol, Ozzie led the Mobile & Wireless strategy and execution as the Mobility CTO in HP’s Office of Strategy & Technology. He also led Systems Engineering, Market and Business Development activities for a number of venture-funded companies including Firetide, AirFlow Networks and Bivio Networks where he was a co-founder or senior management team member addressing Enterprise, Service Provider and vertical markets with wireless and security solutions.
Ozzie worked for Cisco’s Service Provider Line of Business as a Senior Manager designing and implementing telecom IP architectures and migration strategies for Telco’s, Cableco’s, Cellco’s, ISPs, and CLECs. He also worked for Motorola as their Lead System Architect at Motorola’s Land Mobile Products Sector where he led new protocol and product specifications for LMR, iDEN, and cellular radio network infrastructure.
Prior to joining Fortune 100 corporations, Ozzie spent time in the defense and aerospace industry, including 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps specializing in avionics and airborne communications.
Ozzie’s industry standards activities include North American IPv6 Task Force Mobility and Wireless Subject Matter Expert and Steering Committee Member, Silicon Capitol (Wireless Sacramento) Advisor and Wireless Subject Matter Expert, California IPv6 Task Force Steering Committee Member, Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C) Steering Council Member.
Ozzie published a paper on the “Utility of Broadband Wireless: A Technology Roadmap for Disaster Response” for homeland defense in cooperation with the Worldwide Consortium for the Grid (W2COG) and an industry-wide team of subject matter experts. Document can be downloaded here.
Ozzie has several inventions and patents pending on new connected device concepts and connected device management architectures. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Northeastern Illinois University.
